I’m pretty sure Harold Camping read Seth Godin’s “Tribes”.
Remember?
- “A narrative that tells a story about who we are the future we’re trying to build.
- A connection between and among the leader and the tribe.
- Something to do – the fewer the limits, the better.”
Camping is a brilliant marketer, not sure about his business acumen. Or, as they say in Silicon Valley, today is his exit day. Enough money collected, time to move to other ventures, stories and raptures. We’ll see how the story continues in the days to come.
One of his followers was asked how he would explain being on earth May 22. He answered: “That means, I’m in hell.”
I disagree. Life is beautiful and magic. When you always wait for something bad/good to happen, you never live. Actually, that sounds like hell.
