Here’s a thought: If you can’t paint, no judgments allowed on someone else’s painting. If you are not a parent, you are not allowed to judge other parents. If you haven’t done the job of your counterpart – no criticism allowed on someone else’s work.
Your judgments (as well intentioned as they) aren’t helping. No, really. They are pointless.
Before you pass judgment, try it first.
What happens? Once you try it and appreciate how difficult it is to just be the person doing things, your comments stop. Sarcasm from the stands is easy. Support from the field is tougher…and better.
Makes me wonder: Would relationships between agencies, publishers and brands dramatically improve if each of them would walk in other’s shoes for a day or two?
